L’accident vasculaire cérébral en France : patients hospitalisés pour AVC en 2014 et évolutions 2008-2014
2017
ntroduction – In France, stroke is the first cause of death in women, and the third in men. The age-standardized rates of patients hospitalized for stroke increased in patients younger than 65 years between 2002 and 2008. After the implementation of the “National Stroke Action Plan” (2010-2014), this study analyzed trends in the rates of patients hospitalized for stroke and of patients hospitalized in stroke units since 2008.Methods – Data came from the French national hospital discharge databases (PMSI-MCO, 2008-2014). For each patient, the first annual hospitalization for stroke was selected. Crude hospitalized patients and in-hospital mortality rates were calculated by stroke subtypes, a…
Validité et fiabilité des questionnaires d'évaluation de la qualité de vie : une étude appliquée aux accidents vasculaires cérébraux
1996
This article deals with various means, which could be used by designers in order to estimate error terms in questionnaire tests results, thanks to psychometry. The study must be conceived so as to minimize systematic errors (validity) and random errors (reliability). Methods settled to test the validity of a study are very subjective, even if some of them seem to be more "scientific", being based on the principle of correlation. However the last-mentined don't stand up to some theoretic weakness and other explicit subjective methods should be chosen instead : for instance experts consensus. Methods of reliability evaluation have been developed under strong hypothesis to estimate a reliabilit…
Infarctus cérébral et plasticité : focus sur le BDNF
2011
Functional recovery after ischemic stroke largely involves brain plasticity and more accurately its ability to reorganize the neuronal networks spared by the infarct. Studies conducted on animals using different ischemic stroke models have demonstrated that plastic changes are induced by BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor). Hence, increasing levels of BDNF in the brain is considered a promising therapeutic strategy to reduce post-stroke impairments. In this context, our work had 2 aims: 1) In a rat model, to identify cells involved in the over-production of BDNF and to evaluate the pertinence of the measurement of circulating BDNF levels to estimate brain BDNF levels; 2) In ischemic st…
